I made the installation, but the program does not open at all !
Having to connect to Internet is a big problem, because others similars programs do not have this obligation.
Is there another way to install, without Internet ?
Should I have the most recently updates from Microsoft ?

Did you get a chance to try un-installing SongFactory and re-installing it as we discussed by email?

As I mentioned by email:
"The installer needs access to the internet because it uses Microsoft’s DirectX. Microsoft’s DirectX installer is clever and only downloads the bits that your computer needs. Without this, the install would be several hundred megabytes bigger."

We'd definitely recommend making sure that Windows is fully up to date with updates.

Hope that helps - please let us know if re-installing doesn't resolve the problem.

I think the problem is because i did not make the most recent Windows updates.
Is this really necessary ?

Hi Eduardo,

We recommend getting the latest Windows updates simply because this is good practise (for your computer's security), but I'm not sure that this will solve your installation issue.

Did you get a chance to try un-installing SongFactory and re-installing it?

Hi James,

In one computer, it was sucessfull, but in another one, I tried several times, and it did not work !

Hi Eduardo,

It certainly is strange!

Was the computer connected to the internet whilst the install took place? (You mentioned that in your questions)

Also, are there any differences between the computer that is working and the one that is having problems?

(Just so that you're aware, the SongFactory license only allows you to install the software on one computer)

(p.s. I've moved this issue onto a separate thread because it seems to be a separate issue than the one it was originally posted to - to keep things clearer - hope that's OK)

Hi James,

I installed in my PC, at home, and in one notebook, that I take to my band sessions.
That´s all.
My PC is updated, and the note is not.
Perhaps that´s the problem !

Hi Eduardo,

It may be worth trying to update the notebook - perhaps it's not up to date with the latest version of the .Net framework, although this should be updated by the installer.

Was the notebook connected to the internet during installation?

Is it possible to get it, outside Windows site ?
My Windows, in the notebook, is not original, and I can´ t make the Windows Update, and there is no more XP Pro version to sell !
